The big news from Lexar, the company that makes those memory cards that will hopefully never go corrupt on you, is some software that will help you in case they do. They've just announced ImageRescue 3, a totally redesigned and sped-up version of the program that saves the pictures you fear you've lost. Bundled with the cards that are shipping now, ImageRescue 3 will now save your nearly-gone video and audio files as well.

If you're impatient, or if you've been sitting on a bunch of corrupt cards made by Lexar or anyone else, head to the site next week and fork over the decently-low price of $29.95 to download the program. It's also not a bad idea to regularly fire up the software and use the Secure Erase function to completely wipe out your card's memory. Doing so often will maintain the health (and possibly performance) of all your cards.
